FAQs

QUE Touch User Manual FAQ

  1. What should I do if my secondary controller screen turns blue and/or seems to lose connection with my air conditioning system?

Both the Master and Secondary Controller transmit information via WiFi communication, which relies on your access point device. Ensure your access point device is turned ON and working properly. If you have changed your WiFi access code recently, make sure you update the WiFi settings on both the master and secondary controller.

  2. Can I use my mobile phone to access my air conditioning system remotely?

Yes, search & download the “QUE Connect” app from the App store for iOS devices or Google Play store for Android devices. The next step is to register an account via the QUE Connect app. Using your registered account, you can now use the QUE Connect app to log in to your mobile device and Master Controller.

Note: Your master controller must be connected to the internet via WiFi. Data charges may apply to both the master wall controller & mobile devices.

  3. Can I change the zone name displayed on the master controller?

Yes, it is possible to rename the zones, either via the QUE Connect app or via the Master Controller, under Menu > Settings > System Settings > Zone Settings.

  4. What is the indoor environment temperature displayed on the master screen?

This is the average temperature readings of all temperature sensors of the system that have been assigned to a zone.

  5. I tried using the energy history feature but I cannot see any information displayed on the screen?

Make sure your Master Controller is logged into your registered account under Menus > Settings > Account Settings. Once this done, you should also check to ensure your WiFi device and internet connection are both working properly.

  6. I changed the set temperature on my Zone Controller, but the Master Controller still displays the old setting.

Allow 15 seconds for the Zone Controller to transmit the new settings. If this doesn’t work, the zone controller cable maybe loose or the battery maybe dead (if battery powered). Reconnect the zone cable or replace the battery. If this still not working contact your dealer.

  7. I see an error message status on the screen.

Contact your installer / dealer and quote the error message seen on the screen along with any other symptoms you have seen.

  8. One of my zones doesn’t have a zone device, can I add a zone device to enable me to control the zone temperature?

Yes, even if your installation has been completed you still have the option of adding a Zone Controller or Remote Sensor. We recommend that you contact your installer/dealer to discuss the features of each zone device to determine what will work best for you, and to arrange installation.

  9. One of my zones is not cooling/heating. I checked the Master Controller and the screen is ON and the status shows Cooling/Heating.

On the Master Controller, go to zone view by touching “Zone”. Check the status of the zone in question and ensure that the zone is ON. If applicable, adjust zone set temperature and observe outcome. If problem persist, we recommend contacting your installer.

  10. Some zones in my Master Controller do not display the set temperature and zone temperature.

If your zone does not have a dedicated zone device installed, it is considered as non-VAV zone. It is not possible to adjust the set temperature or view the zone temperature for non-VAV zones. On other hand, zones that have a dedicated zone device installed are called VAV zones. With VAV zones, you can view their zone temperature and adjust the zone set temperature individually.

  11. Will my controller be automatically updated if there is new QUE software available?

Yes, you will receive all the relevant updates as needed, provided the controller is connected to the internet.

  12. Do I lose any features if I choose not to set up an account?

For the best utilisation of your system, it is highly recommended to link your controller with your QUE account. If you do not link your account, a number of features will be disabled, such as energy history, mobile device connectivity (QUE Connect app) and more.

QUE Touch Installation FAQ

  1. Do I need a WiFi signal or internet connection to install the QUE system?

No. You can install and use a QUE system without a WiFi signal or internet connection. Because the zone devices use inbuilt RF signal to communicate with the Master Controller, they can operate without an internet connection. However, you need a WiFi signal to install a secondary controller and an internet connection to control the system remotely via the QUE Connect App.

  2. How many zones and how many zone dampers can be installed in the system?

A maximum of 8 zones, with a total of 10 dampers.

  3. If a zone controller is too far from the Master Controller to be in range, what options are available?

We recommend that you investigate if the Master Controller can be relocated to a more suitable location within the specified range. Alternatively, you can consider installing a secondary Master Controller, which acts as a RF repeater which increases signal coverage.

  4. Can I use a WiFi booster to improve the range of the Master and Secondary Controllers?

Yes, however you must ensure the WiFi signal booster is configured to ensure compatibility with your system.

  5. When using the Master Controller, how will you know which device is connected to which zone?

You can view the set up page to identify the unique serial number which is assigned to each individual zone. On main controller go to Menu > Settings > System Settings > Zone Setting. Following this, you can customise the name of each zone

  6. Can I connect the Master and Secondary Controllers to power source other than the indoor board?

No, both the Master & Secondary Controllers must be connected to the indoor board, where they are both allocated a dedicated terminal.

  7. What power source options are available for the Zone Controller and Remote Sensor?

You have a wired option whereby you use the RJ45 cable from the damper motor, or a wireless option whereby you use AAA batteries.

Note: Do not use both power sources at the same time.

  8. If I replace a defective Master Controller do I need to set up the whole system again?

Yes. You need to complete the commissioning process again.

  9. If I replace a defective Secondary Controller do I need to set up the whole system again?

No. Simply connect the new Secondary Controller, ensuring it is configured to the same WiFi connection as the Master Controller. Then from the Master Controller simply go to Menu > Setting s> System Setting > Main Controller Settings. Once there, remove the link of the old Secondary Controller and update to link to the new Secondary Controller.

  10. Can I swap the master controller to the secondary controller and vice versa?

No. If you do, it will impact the operation of the system.

QUE Zone Installation and User Manual FAQ

  1. What is the effective range of the RF signal?

The effective range is 30 metres (based on no obstructions, with a clear line of sight). In applications where greater coverage is required, a Secondary Controller is recommended.

  2. Can I use a 3rd party RF booster to improve the range?

No. For applications where the RF coverage needs to be increased, a Secondary Controller is recommended.

  3. If a Zone Controller is too far from the Master Controller to be in range, what options are available?

The first option would be to investigate whether the Master Controller and the device can be relocated close to each other. Failing that, a Secondary Controller can be installed in an appropriate location to increase RF coverage and accommodate the zone (Refer to question 1 and 2).

  4. What is the maximum number of devices per zone?

Up to two devices per zone can be paired. These can be either 2 Remote Sensors, or 1 Zone Controller and 1 Remote Sensor.

  5. Can I pair a Zone Controller to more than one zone?

No, Zone Controllers can only be paired with one zone.

  6. What if the zone device loses its connection from the Master Controller?

Re-pair the zone device by pressing the pair button (located on the right side of the device) until a green light flashes. If the green light does not flash, check for any interference around the zone device. You may need to remove the source of interference or relocate the Zone Controller to improve the signal strength.

  7. If I replace a defective zone device do I need to set up the new device?

Yes. On the Master Controller go to Menu > Settings > System Settings > Zone Settings. Firstly you need to remove the pairing of old defective device, before then pairing the new zone device.

  9. How can I check zone temperature and adjust set temperature if I only have a Remote Sensor installed in the zone?

If the zone is a VAV zone, you can check zone temperature and change the set temperature via the Master Controller. From master controller, swiping the screen to the left will show the screen view of connected zones.
